What should I expect in my first few sessions?

It is understandable to have some uncertainty about beginning therapy. The first session will be an Intake that includes answering a lot of questions about your history and what brings you to seek help at this time. Subsequent sessions will focus on getting to know you on a deeper level, and possibly exploring more specific goals you may have in mind. As time goes on, sessions will look different depending on the current focus and what transpires along the way. Each client’s circumstances and progress are unique and I suggest avoiding comparisons.

How often will I come?

I would strongly recommend coming weekly for the first few months as we are getting comfortable and building rapport, but this could change based on your goals and needs.

Do you provide in-person or online appointments?

Both! My office in Cresskill is available to me on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for in-person sessions, and I am flexible to provide telehealth sessions for clients throughout New Jersey on other days. Telehealth clients must be located in NJ during the time of their visit.

Do you accept my insurance?

At this time, I am an Out Of Network (OON) provider. Payments are collected at time of service. However, I am an insurance friendly provider: I will create superbills for you to submit as needed, and I am also registered with Mentaya who submits those claims for you — you will not have to do this yourself if you choose to take advantage of their service! What is your cancellation policy?

I require 48 hours notice for cancellations, since I will have that time slot reserved specifically for you. There will be occasional exceptions for emergencies. The fee for late cancellations and for no-shows is the cost of your full session as scheduled.


How do I communicate with you?

We will communicate via the Client Portal messaging which is HIPAA compliant, and you will also join sessions via the Portal. I will respond within 1-2 business days. If you need immediate attention or are having a psychiatric emergency, please do not utilize messaging for this; Instead, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
